In the heart of Galicia, where the steep rocks are root, cradle and shelter, and the land is transformed into wine, ViniGalicia Familia Bodeguera was born. In Chantada, in 1940, Manuel Méndez and Maruja Otero founded Casa Penouzos, a small establishment dedicated to catering and wine sales. Soon, it became a recognized and highly valued place of passage in the area. Years later, with the help of their children, they decided to dedicate themselves exclusively to the world of wine and founded Bodegas Penouzos. The growing demand of the sector and the success of the wineries led the Méndez family to create the first company in the area fully dedicated to the wine industry. Thus, in 1976, Vínicola de Chantada S.A. was born.

With almost 80 years of experience, ViniGalicia Familia Bodeguera has a presence in all the appellations of origin of Galicia, which allows it to offer a portfolio of premium products with a strong link to the origin. Its offer includes bottled still and sparkling wines, sangrias, and D.O. Rías Baixas, Ribeiro, Ribeira Sacra, Valdeorras and Monterrei wines, as well as spirits and liqueurs. Currently, its products are present in 25 countries, where they enjoy great acceptance among consumers from different cultures.
