Arab fortresses, old convents, palaces, castles, manor houses... Unique buildings of yesterday and today. These are the Paradores de Turismo de España, a brand recognized worldwide for its quality and comfort, but, above all, for the magic of its hotels. With more than 96 years of history, this hotel chain has successfully fulfilled its mission of promoting the best image of Spain, protecting the historical and cultural heritage, and fostering the local economy, as well as caring for the environment. Paradores currently has 97 establishments, as well as a franchise in Portugal. Paradores de Turismo de España is a Sociedad Mercantil Estatal (S.M.E.) incorporated in 1991 as a Sociedad Anónima (S.A.), whose sole shareholder is the Spanish State, represented by the Dirección General de Patrimonio del Estado del Ministerio de Hacienda y Función Pública (General Directorate of State Patrimony of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function). Its mission includes the recovery and protection of historical heritage, the revitalization of areas with less tourist or economic activity, and the promotion of quality Spanish tourism. Its sustainability and corporate social responsibility policies have contributed significantly to its reputation as a brand.
Paradores aspires to lead the markets in which it operates through its own differentiated management model, based on sustainability. As a public hotel company, it not only generates economic benefits, but also, in collaboration with local communities and various entities, provides important social, cultural and environmental benefits in the regions where its establishments are located and in the country as a whole. With a clear vocation for service and a commitment to excellence, Paradores focuses all its efforts on the satisfaction of its millions of customers.
