Emina

Emina has its roots in the countryside, in the vineyard, but also in the enthusiasm and passion of an entrepreneur who wanted to produce a new type of wine in two of the most important wine regions of his land, Castilla y León, Spain. Carlos Moro, today president of Bodegas Familiares Matarromera, began to draw the soul of Emina at the end of the 90's, he was always clear that he wanted to investigate in a sector as traditional as wine and that his ancestors had been working for many years. The creator of Bodegas Emina knew that new products and techniques could be developed and has gradually managed to place this wine region, framed in two Designations of Origin such as Ribera del Duero and Rueda, at the forefront of technological innovation.
Emina in Latin means beloved and in its day a hemina was the limit measure that the monks had to drink per day. Emina picks up this word as a passion for the world of wine, respecting the culture and our past but with an innovative vision, research and technological implementation that is reflected in the progress that researchers achieve through various projects in the field and in the winery but also discovered in the winemaking experience that visitors who come to visit one of the two wineries and taste Emina wines up close.
