The history of Pago de Capellanes begins in Pedrosa de Duero, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero in Burgos, in the same place where the village chaplains cultivated a vineyard in the Middle Ages. Today, under the direction of Estefanía Rodero Villa, the winery works to preserve the land and care for a history marked by the landscape, tradition and a deep respect for the nature of the vineyard. Their wines reflect this commitment from the balance and finesse, highlighting the value and identity of the different places they cultivate in Pedrosa and other villages of the Ribera del Duero.
In 2014, the concern to make white wines under the same philosophy of Pago de Capellanes - expressive, deep, intense and with capacity for long aging - led them to Galicia. There they found in the small and traditional area of Valdeorras a unique territory of granite and slate, home to the old Godello vines, whose purest and most authentic expression they captured. Thus was born O Luar do Sil, the family's second winery, where their legacy of respect and excellence continues.
